Bill Rudnick serves on Cresset’s senior leadership team as General Counsel. Bill began working with Cresset as outside counsel in 2017.
Bill has decades of experience counseling and representing entrepreneurial clients and advising on legal and business matters, including growth strategy, corporate and family governance, strategic planning, succession planning, and technology. Since 2005, Bill has been repeatedly designated an Illinois Super Lawyer by Law & Politics and Chicago magazines. Martindale-Hubbell has rated him AV, its highest ranking. He is also regularly named to The Best Lawyers in America. Prior to joining Cresset, Bill was a partner with DLA Piper, where he served in numerous leadership roles, including Managing Partner of the Chicago office, and leader of DLA Piper’s Strategic Planning and Real Estate Strategy Committees. Today, Bill maintains his relationship with DLA Piper as Senior Counsel.
Bill dedicates much of his time to civic and charitable endeavors, and helps lead Cresset’s philanthropic initiatives. Bill has been active in food banking for three decades, chairing the boards of directors of The Greater Chicago Food Depository, Feeding America, and The Global FoodBanking Network, which he co-founded. Bill is a member of the Economic Club of Chicago and YPO Gold.
Bill received his BA, cum laude, in Philosophy from Tufts University; he received his JD from the Pritzker School of Law, Northwestern University; and he received his MBA, with honors, from the Booth School of Management, The University of Chicago.
Bill and his wife, Lisa, live in Chicago; they have five children.
