Michael Costabile is Cresset’s Executive Managing Director, Chief Financial Officer, leading the accounting, reporting, financial planning and analysis, budgeting, auditing, and tax and treasury functions to drive performance through effective data, execution, and cross-functional teamwork.
Most recently, Michael served as CFO of Moneta Group, one of the largest RIAs in the United States with more than $20 billion in assets under management. He led the financial operations of the firm with financial and operational analytics, metrics, treasury management, and ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve the firm’s assets and drive growth and return. Prior to that role, he was the CFO and Chief Human Resources Officer of Intalere (formerly Amerinet), a leading national health care supply chain optimization organization. In addition to his finance and human resources responsibilities, Michael led compliance, risk mitigation, legal, facilities, asset management and corporate development. Michael began his career in the audit division of Arthur Andersen in Pittsburgh.
Michael earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting with highest honors from Pennsylvania State University and became a Certified Public Accountant in Pennsylvania in 1994. In the past, he served as a board member and volunteer for the Pittsburgh Urban Magnet Project, which has a mission to engage and retain young people to bring dynamism, diversity, and change to Pittsburgh.
Michael and his wife, Shelly, are the proud parents of two boys, Owen and Lachlan. As a family, they enjoy traveling, nature, sports, and the arts.
