James Cheap

Associate, Cresset Private Capital

James Cheap is an Associate for Cresset Partners and is responsible for evaluating venture capital and private market investment opportunities.

Before joining Cresset, James was an Investment Research Analyst for TRUE Capital Management, a wealth management firm focused on professional athletes, entertainers, and entrepreneurs. Prior to TRUE, he was a Senior Analyst at SharesPost where he published research on venture-backed companies as they transitioned from being privately-held through their IPO (such as Beyond Meat, Moderna, Uber, Lyft).

James earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree with Honors from the University of California, Davis. He is a FINRA^® licensed Investment Advisor.
