As an Associate Director, Cresset Private Capital, Mitchell Sussman is responsible for evaluating investment opportunities, coordinating due diligence, and financial modeling for private equity and venture capital investments. Previously, Mitchell spent ~5 years as an Investor for NewSpring Capital, a multi-strategy middle market private equity firm focused on buyout, growth equity, and mezzanine debt transactions. Mitchell led the underwriting on 17 transactions across a wide range of sectors including healthcare, manufacturing, food & beverage, government services, SaaS, IT services, and more. He has been a Board Member for Joseph’s Frozen Foods, a board observer for 9 additional companies, and an advisor to two early-stage start-ups. Prior to NewSpring Capital, Mitchell spent ~2 years at FS Investments working on the private credit portfolio management team. Mitchell graduated from The Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor’s in Finance.
Originally from Philadelphia, PA, Mitchell joined Cresset’s Chicago team in 2022 and resides in Miami. In his spare time, he enjoys snowboarding, wakesurfing, cooking, traveling, and investing in new venture capital and private equity deals.
